#217613 The Division beta - First thoughts

Posted by MrMackeyMKayyy on January 29, 2016

I'm actually kinda of let down by what I've seen so far in the beta. The graphics are pretty decent, though not as good as I was anticipating. As far as the interaction with looting and what not it is not too shabby, though their inventory system is annoying for me to use since it just feels like it was made for controllers (which it was).

I've probably spent about an hour and a half in-game and I'm bored (at-least with the content in the beta). The only interesting thing I find to do in the game so far is the Dark Zone which is most likely what I'd play if I were to end up getting the game. The AI are not fun to fight because they are so easy to kill, present no challange, and are predictable. I'm curious to see what's all in the game but I think the beta has helped me decide against pre-ordering it and maybe take a few days or so to watch others play it.

Usually the evenings. We all have to work unfortunately :(  But we are consistently after that :) There is now a Blade and Soul channel in discord.  We will be in there when we play.

Alrighty, I might hop in here and there.

#216483 Need Advice for Future Hardware Upgrade

Posted by MrMackeyMKayyy on January 08, 2016

Hey there everyone! Today I just picked up a brand new 1440p 144hz ASUS ROG Swift and a triple monitor stand so I can finally have my battle-station setup that I've been wanting for quite a while. With this new monitor though I know it is going to be pulling a good bit more resources from my hardware and I'm struggling to keep above 60fps in some of my favorite games on decent quality. I play a lot of early access titles which are not well optimized for my setup since I'm running SLI with some fairly old cards. I have not kept up with the times and all the new hardware that has come out and what not so I'm hoping that some of you around here would be able to share some of your knowledge as to what I should upgrade in terms of priority like CPU + Mobo + RAM or GPU, etc... I'm having a tough time trying to find the bottle-neck in my system and I've spent so much money recently just on my peripherals that it is time to show my hardware some love.

I do plan on getting the next Nvidia GPU architecture which is coming out next so the GPU will be on the back-burner until then. I'd still like to know your thoughts on it though, are my 4gb 680's past their expiration date for current gen games and some EA games that are out like Rust and what not for 1440p? Below are my system specs if you'd like to take a peak and let me know your thoughts I'd appreciate it so much! Thanks and take care icon_e_smile.gif

#215731 Looking To Buy Desktop Speakers

Posted by MrMackeyMKayyy on December 23, 2015

Klipsh Pro Media 2.1 are on sale at Best Buy right now for $115 off of $150. SUPER GOOD DEAL. @MrFortyTwo and myself both have this set and they are freaking amazing. They sound fantastic, dont take up too much space and they can get LOUD. I don't think I ever go over 30% volume.

If that is too expensive, you've got the Logitech z523 setup that is pretty good as well.

If you are looking for more budget friendly that that, the Logitech z313 speakers are the speakers that I buy for all the classroom teachers that use smarrboards. Sound is capable of filling an entire classroom of students no problem. Has volume control separate from a tweaker, but it's just another thing that sits on your desk.

Other random expensive speakers because they look dope :)

LOL before anyone posted I literally couldn't wait any longer to go out Christmas shopping for the family. So while I was at Best Buy I saw the Kipsch 2.1 and immediately called my friend to ask him about the brand and he said it was great. I ended up buying it after demoing it at the store so I'm setting it up now.

Thanks all for the suggestions! I can't wait to fire these puppies up.
