Paronicon 2 - command not working

Best Answer Paronity, July 09, 2016

L:\COD4_SERVER\main\minicserver.log

It's working my man ! Nice... :) :)

any clue what to do to fix this in the future ?

If you had put this path in the path to log textbox when adding the server, it would have worked. You were just pointing it at the wrong file, so there was nothing for it to parse/read. I just manipulated it to have the correct path stored.

Nice and simple. :)

This is most likely an example and of the not writing correctly. What CoD are we working with here?

Cod4

Yea - you are dealing with the log not writing properly thanks to many years of people copying and pasting the wrong information for many years. See here: https://gsngaming.co...d-ban/?p=224212

This ended up not being this persons issue, but sounds like it may be yours.

Yea - shouldn't be an issue as long as that is what you put/selected in the addition of the server.

I don't know what could be happening here, but there are several things it could be.

1.) Disable/turn off Paronicon.

2.) Delete everything in the logs folder.

3.) Goto Settings->Global Options

4.) Logs/Loggin Tab

5.) Set it to trace.

6.) Start the monitoring.

7.) Let a couple matches go through.

8.) ZIP up the logs folder and shoot that to me. (it can be public - nothing confidential is written to the logs).

That will give me guidance as to how we should proceed.

There you go, I don't know if you have enought.

I want to specify that my cod4 server and paronicon server are on the same computer/server.

I use the local address to log from paronicon to my server.

Nothing looks out of place.

Next step is to send me your globals.pnc which is in the data folder. This file DOES contain confidential information about your server,so you will want to send it to me privately. You can use the PM system here on the forums.

ok - based on that file, it looks like it might be looking in the wrong place for trhe log file. Can you tell me the FULL and exact path to the file and I will do some trickery to fix it and send the file back to you and see if that works?

No, this would be the path to the server's games_mp.log (is what is called by default). This is where Paronicon reads from, not where it writes to.

I uploaded a fixed file to you in the PM. Rename it to globals.pnc and stick it back where it came from. Let me know how it goes.

I understand now ! thanks

I have the same issue of the other thread (post) that you linked.

When I ban with !ban command, it's only working at the next round or map restart and the !tempban command don't work at all.

Yea - that's an odd one and is likely going to require a patch to fix. I'll look at the code to see what's going on at some point.
