Cod4 with Paronicon (tempban and ban)

Error Code/Message: no specifique message error

Hi,

Each time use command "!tempban" don't work.

 

Each time use "!ban" don't work immediately, work after change map.

 

All another commands work fine!

 

Idea for why?

!tempban requires you to give it a length of time (in minutes). The temp ban logic isn't very well done because it wasn't very used, so it could very well have bugs in it that I haven't fixed. 

 

As for the ban going through at the end of the round, it sounds like your logSync is off and it's buffering the log rather than outputting the logs instantly. What is your logSync setting set to in your server config?

Ok,

 

In server.cfg

 

set g_logsync "2" // 0=no log, 1=buffered, 2=continuous, 3=append
set logfile "1" // 0 = NO log, 1 = log file enabled
set g_log "games_mp.log" // Name of log file, default is games_mp.log
set sv_log_damage "1"

Nope. This is a long and incorrectly commented snippet of config that has been plaguing servers for YEARS. The only valid options for this field are 0 or 1. That's it. There is no 2 or 3. Set this field to 1 and then see how things go.

i try set g_logsync "1"

 

But same, !ban command ban after switch map.

 

(im use acces log with ftp connection, gameservers url log dont work)

Something is still wrong then. That's really strange. If you refresh the file while an active game is taking place, do you see log activity in real-time, or does it write everything at the end of the game/round/match?

I'll check tonight.
But if he writes at the end, the warning/auto kick for restricted item or ping kicker would not work?

Ping Kicker is done by the status on the server (RCON Commands), so it's not controlled by the logger. So restricted items work instantly? Kicks work instantly, but bans are delayed until the end of the round?  :blink:

Set P2's log level to trace. Delete all the logs from the logs folder, then ban someone and wait for it to go through. Run a kick as well, additionally use a restricted item. Zip up the logs after these tests and shoot them to me. (It can be publicly, nothing sensitive is logged in them)

 

I'll have look at it. This is strange behavior indeed.

I will try with other players later!

 

but I tested with another rcon just try to "ban", work time immediately! (Old rcon)
Strange ....

in rcon in console, rcon banuser "name" work immediately.

I will need the paronicon log from the installation folder. It will be best if they are set to trace, as asked above.

I reset the log tomorrow. After I will test with another player.
I sent logs after!

I have the same issues on my server,

 

!tempban is not working and !ban is taking effect after next round or map rotation

When you guys run the !ban command, does it reply instantly and just doesn't remove them until the end of the round, or does it not do ANYTHING until the end of the round?

after we do !reply yes, it says banned (the player) successfuly and nothing append until next round or map restart

ok - tempban doesn't work and probably wont for quite some time because I never wrote that code. :D

 

The ban portion of this, is fairly easy to fix (I think), but it WILL require a new build to fix it and I'm not sure when that will be. I hate to push a build for one tiny thing. Let me spend the next couple of days throwing some more fixes in and updating stuff and then I'll see about getting a build out to address this issue. Thanks!
