Whats the difference between the open and closed cup?

Depending on your hearing most of the time open cup has more natural sounding acoustics and you can hear what's going on around you while you game. Closed cup is you can hardly hear anything around you while you game and anyone around you won't be able to hear sound bleed from the headset. Closed is also great for competitive gaming, easier to hear footsteps and directions of sound.

Whats the difference between the open and closed cup?

It's essentially "reverse" noise cancelling.  I read that the open cup allowed you to hear ambient sounds while playing a game, but I've found that to be mostly untrue ( I have the Sennheiser P363D-open cup).  On the other hand, while I am playing people from across the room can here the gameplay coming through my headset.  I really like them, but if I were buying new ones I would go with closed cup.

Paronity and I have these. I've been quite happy with them. Great sound (uses optical) and a good mic on them too. Long battery life and I've never had an issue with interference or getting disconnected.

Click Meh Brah

I have this headset (the wireless version) there is also a wired version and I've had it for almost a year and I can say I absolutely love it! @Al Hoff actually recommended it for me it has a crystal clear microphone and sound quality with awesome bass. Fully charged this puppy can last around 8-10 of constant gaming (trust me I've done it), the wireless range is amazing I can be around 25ft away with my headset before it starts breaking up and There are 3 walls in between my headset and the receiver when I am at this distance. I would look around because I bought this puppy for $80 on sale I know newegg and other retailers have it as well so just do some looking around. But yeah lol on the real note click this link instead! Here

I have the sennheisers too. Best headset I've ever owned. Closed cup is the way to go IMO

+1 for Sennheisers (I have one similar to Termi's).  I love them because the microphone quality is fantastic, sound is really good, and they are super comfortable.  I can literally wear them all day with zero fatigue.  Also, I have had them a while and they are still in fantastic shape.

I personally prefer open cup, but I used to own closed cup and see why people like them as well.  Definitely a preference thing.
