What: A local GSN Gaming Extra Life Streaming Party. Local Extra Life Fundraiser Party. Food, drinks, video games, board games, awesome people, streaming, GSN Weekly Live from the Venue

When: November 7th, 2015

Why: For the kids!

Where: Michigan

Hey there GSN gaming community. It’s that time again. EXTRA LIFE TIME. You know what GSN loves more than playing video games? Playing video games to raise money for charity. And this time we are going to do it big!

However, this year - it’s going to be much more than just a 24 hour stream. We are going to be doing a local event in Michigan this year. Now, while this is going to be an event hosted by GSN, there will be many people who are not members of GSN that will be able to help.

So, here is the deal. We are going to be at the a venue here in Michigan on the 7th. We will be operating from the hours of 10am to 2am on that day. All of the streaming on the GSN channel within those operating hours will be done from the venue. BadBadRobot, myself and a few other streamers will be filling that time slot. In addition to that, we will be having our GSN Weekly 1 Year Anniversary show LIVE FROM THE VENUE. How awesome is that!

So, that means that anyone who will not be able to attend the event locally, but still wants to contribute by streaming off site, can. On that Saturday, we will have a few open time slots from midnight (friday/saturday) to 10am. Now, if you guys want, we can setup a stream schedule for the day before and GSN gaming members will have the chance to help raise some more money. We can start streaming 10am on Friday and try go to all the way until 10am on Saturday, where we will start streaming Live from the event. Again, the GSN gaming channel will host anyone who has been selected to stream.

Disclaimer : You must be a ranking GSN member to stream for this event. This is a GSN sponsored event, so we will be keeping it to members only

So, this is how this event will be going. We will be selecting some people to stream both on and off site for this event. For both Friday and Saturday. If you are interested in helping raise money for this by means of streaming, please sign up for the GSN Team here, and send me a PM on the forums. I will get back to you with more details involving time slots and such at a later date. At 10:00am on Saturday, we will start streaming live from the venue. We will be starting with maybe a 30 minute intro feat. BadBadRobot and myself, talking to a few locals, owner of the venue, show off some food. etc. etc. After that, we will have streamers rotating in and out of the ‘streaming’ room, most likely in 2 hour intervals. At around 7pm on Saturday, we will be having a VERY special episode of GSN Weekly. Our one year anniversary show! I wont give any details away, but we will have some awesome stuff planned. We are going to try and keep the show under 2 hours so that we have some more time to stream afterwards. We will continue to stream after the show until they shut us down at 2am that day.

Because this is a local event, we will be open to the public. Anyone will be able to show up to the event and get some food, drinks and video gaming in. We are going to have a couple volunteers on site collecting cash donations, which we will be updating the audience as we go. There will be BBQ, pizza, pop, candy and many other goodies. On top of that, there will be many TV’s with different video game systems so people who are not streaming can still game with others. The venue also has 10 computers on site that we can do some multiplayer gaming with as well. It’s going to be awesome.

So, mark your calendars my friends, because this is going to be an event for the books! We doing this for the kids! There are many more details to be released, so make sure you stay tuned!

Will be looking forward to the great marathon of streaming!

Really appreciate you guys doing this.

When I was younger I had severe speech and hearing problems and the specialists at St. Judes Children's hospital (a beneficiary of your donations) helped me out greatly.

Wow man that is awesome. I had no idea you got help from St. Judes! Streaming for them this past year was such an inspiration, so we wanted to step it up and host a giant event for extra life because our St. Jude stream-o-thon was such a success. We will be doing it big for St. Judes again next year!

I second this. I love giving to St Jude's. The work they do is amazing. Anything I sell on eBay I opt int to give St Judes 10% of it (even now, when Im in struggling times, because the perseverance and Crap the people that go to St Jude make my issues seems puny). They need the money much more than I do and they deserve it. (pay it forward, always.....)

I look forward to streaming in one or more of the slots. I LOVE this event every year. So excited!

O.o I will *hopefully* be able to join in the streaming for this as I am off work Saturday and Sunday but I could even pull night shift Friday night as well to fill some slots! Loved watching everyone put in work last year and can't wait for the endless entertainment during everyone's streams!

Since me and @GooNie cannot do this weekends GSN event we talked about going to this.   I have 1 question should we bring our own rigs if we are driving in?

You can either bring your own rigs, or you can use one of 12 that they already have at the venue. Up to you. I don't think maybe peopel will be driving/flying into MI again for this event, so we'll have plenty open.

Having used theirs, I would say bring yours. Theirs are decent, but nothing like having your own stuff there.

It depends on what games you plan on playing. Keep in mind, that this wont be at the same pace as the LAN party. Instead of having 20 PC gamers playing PC games, there is going to be multiple TV's, with multiple consoles, going to be some games out side (if its still warmish), board games, etc. etc. So there is going to be a lot more people playing a lot of other things other than PC games.

Also remember, this event is open to the public. The venue cannot guarantee the safety and security of your hardware. Keep that in mind. We will have 1 room setup with a gaming pc and a streaming PC for the stream, and that will be the only place locked down.

@Nackers Good point. If @BadBadRobot doesn't want to break his computer down again, I'm game for you guys using my computer for whatever you need. My "cable management" is a couple of zip ties, and I have full access to the back of my desk.
