need some more specifics;

Which mods?

Is it a fresh map?

Can I get some physical specs of your rig?

Happened to me before, and the only solution I found was reinstalling Minecraft, but you can also try use optifine or something.

Also, what did you upgrade, the PC's RAM or the Minecraft's memory allocation amount?

Sorry I didn't get time to help last night - ended up having a minor kid-tastrophe at the house.

In addition to what's said above, check that you are running 64-bit JAVA.

Bring up a command prompt and type "java -version" (without the quotes) and snap what it outputs.

So it only lags with the mods installed correct?

Windows Key, then type "cmd" without quotes.

Im gonna start this off with:

  • Minecraft version
  • Java version (6,7,8)
  • Mods that you *were* running
  • mods you are currently running

Also, if you run out of date mods, they may have methods that are now memory leaks (such as storing players as players in a hash instead of as a string). So that could possibly be running your memory up and crashing your game.

You have a global/session variable that is setting -Xmx256M somewhere.....  That is limiting Java to 256MB of RAM.

Do you know where to check for these values at? If not, I'll guide ya.

1.) 3n1A4.png

2.) 6V4a5.png

3.) Click on environment variables: 5W4U9.png

4.) Look for _JAVA_OPTIONS in either list of the window that comes up (the user or the system). Delete it.

5.) Try minecraft again.

That's probably going to come down to a mod or something that you have running. Are you running a high-res resource pack running or anything?
