So if your a streamer on Twitch, large news about changes in the company came out today. It's not all good, but it's something that every streamer should be aware about.
Update to VOD's (Videos on demand, aka past broadcasts) on Twitch: http://blog.twitch.t...vods-on-twitch/
Important: Changes To Audio In VODS: http://blog.twitch.tv/2014/08/3136/
What do you guys think of these changes?
Personally, the VOD stuff sounds good. Would love to get VOD's viewable on other devices other then your computer browser. Also, after I stream it would always be a few days before I could go back and do highlights, and sometimes I would forget and they would already be deleted, losing out on great moments. Now, for TURBO users, your past broadcasts will stay for 60 days. A good amount of time to make highlights, which highlights will now last forever.
Now the audio stuff. This is going to suck. Any music you play while your streaming is now scanned. If copywriteed material is found (even ambient background game music), it will MUTE the audio in the VOD. I looked back and my VOD's have already been muted. This one was muted for 30 minutes because I think I played the price is right song: http://www.twitch.tv...bot/b/552917438
